mHealth Scientific Interest Group
The mHealth Scientific Interest Group provides a forum for rapid exchange of ideas and information among NIH intramural investigators who use mobile technologies for assessment or intervention. The goals of the group are to help intramural researchers network and problem-solve, to enhance intramural access to new technology, and to prepare a framework for “path to approval” for new projects. The group also promotes mHealth research in the intramural and extramural communities.
The group meets every other month on the NIH Bethesda campus and maintains a listserv for more frequent communication between meetings. Meets are available for view on WebEx. Presentations cover methodology, research results, technology transfer, ethics, and evolving technologies. The group is open to NIH scientists at all levels. Special attention is paid to inclusion of postdocs and staff scientists/clinicians, but, because mHealth is a rapidly changing field, it is likely that tenured and tenure-track investigators will also be able to learn valuable information from the meetings.
