Rigor and Responsibility Scientific Interest Group
With increasingly sophisticated tools and high-throughput techniques shaping biomedical research, the foundation of scientific rigor has never been more essential. Our mission is to enhance foundational practices in study design, data analysis, and reporting to elevate research quality and ensure the enduring impact of NIH-supported work.
The Rigor and Reproducibility Scientific Interest Group (RRIG) aims to promote a culture of robust, transparent, and repeatable research practices across all areas of biomedical science at the NIH. We provide a forum for discussion, education, and collaboration on best practices that uphold scientific integrity, and social responsibility.
Regular meetings will focus on discussing best practices for rigor and reproducibility. Some sessions will include guest lectures from experts in the field, providing guidance on experimental design, data management, and transparent reporting. In other sessions, we will conduct case studies of published research to explore the elements of a strong paper and identify opportunities to improve the reporting of data and methods. All our meetings are open to any interested individuals.
