Dr. Parker Ruhl is the Director of Faculty Affairs in the Office of Intramural Research (OIR). Dr. Ruhl leads the policy and procedures supporting NIH faculty across the arc of their scientific and clinical careers. She is a pulmonologist and serves as an Attending Physician at the NIH Clinical Center and has a clinical research focus on the pulmonary manifestations of sickle cell disease.
Dr. Ruhl attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed internal medicine training in the Osler Medical Residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She completed a combined fellowship in critical care medicine at the NIH Clinical Center and pulmonary medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and received a Master of Health Sciences from the Duke University School of Medicine. She is a member of the American Association of Medical Colleges Faculty and Staff Vitality Group, a fellow of the American Thoracic Society, and a past fellow in the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) program.
