Free Radical Interest Group
The Free Radical Interest Group has reformed as the Redox Biology Interest Group. Visit us a https://oir.nih.gov/sigs/redox-biology-interest-group.
The following is posted for historical purposes: The Free Radical Interest Group in conjunction with the interagency/university consortium The Oxygen Club of Greater Washington, D.C., work to bring together individuals from a wide range of fields that are interested in understanding the roles free radicals and other reactive oxygen and nitrogen species play in basic physiology, disease mechanisms and treatment strategies. The Oxygen Club, founded in 1987, was the first group organized to study and discuss free radicals. The interdisciplinary nature of our group provides attendees with the opportunity to both learn and network. Members enjoy a spirit of informality during our seminar discussions and many productive collaborations that transcend chemistry, biology and medicine have begun through these interactions.
