iPSC-Based Disease Modeling Scientific Interest Group
The goal of SIG on induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells-based disease modeling is to bring people with a shared interest in advancing disease modeling using a common platform. This platform will help exchange information and resources, discuss issues, ideas, and trends, and share expertise, discoveries, and best technical and scientific practices across iPSC-based disease modeling. This SIG will help to build a network of stem cell scientists, across all NIH campuses and all the NIH ICs, that have diverse interests in patient tissue development and using this tool to model simple and complex diseases. When differentiating tissues from iPS cells, protocol development, reagent availability, efficiency, and reproducibility are common problems every stem-cell lab face.
