Lambda Lunch Interest Group
The Lambda Lunch Interest Group is probably the SIG with the longest continuous existence. The group has been meeting weekly for over 40 years. One-hour presentations are given by intramural students, fellows and PIs or by invited speakers from throughout the world. The topics discussed fall broadly into microbiology ranging from bacterial pathogenesis and yeast genetics to cell biology, gene regulation and biochemical characterization of molecular machines. The Lambda lunch SIG promotes collaboration and knowledge-sharing among the scientists attending and is an excellent forum for students and fellows to receive feedback on their work.
