Menopause Scientific Interest Group
The mission of the Menopause Science Interest Group (SIG) is to bring together scientists and clinicians across the NIH community to advance understanding of the biological, clinical, and public health dimensions of menopause. This group will provide a forum for sharing emerging research, fostering collaboration, and integrating perspectives from immunology, endocrinology, cardiovascular science, neuroscience, and related fields. By promoting cross-disciplinary dialogue, the group aims to accelerate discovery into how menopause influences health and disease risk, including inflammatory, metabolic, and cardiovascular conditions.
The goal is to support the development of more effective, evidence-based, research to improve health outcomes for women during midlife and beyond. Our group is open to investigators, trainees and scientific staff across NIH working in immunology, endocrinology, cardiovascular science, metabolism, neuroscience, women’s health, and related disciplines. The scope is to support scientific inquiry, methodology, collaboration, and data generation related to women’s midlife health. Activities will include seminar series, journal club, data sharing, and research incubator.
