Nurse Practitioner/Physician Associate Scientific Interest Group
Who We Are
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Physician Associate (PA) Special Interest Group (SIG) was formed to represent and bring together the more than 250 advanced practice providers who work at the NIH Clinical Center. We are a professional community of NPs and PAs united by our shared role in delivering clinical care within the NIH intramural research setting. Membership is open to all NP and PA staff at the NIH Clinical Center.
Our Purpose
The mission of the Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Physician Associate (PA) SIG is to support, promote, and advance nurse practitioners and physician associates at the Clinical Center and within research settings throughout NIH.
What We Do
The NP/PA SIG is a conduit for discussing and disseminating information related to NP and PA practice at NIH; offering opportunities that facilitate career advancement and mentorship for members of the NP/PA SIG; creating a network of mid-level providers to support care of clinical center patients; fostering multi-institute collaboration; and providing a framework for preceptorship of NP and PA students looking for clinical experience.

Meetings
Our SIG stays active year-round with monthly journal clubs, casual meet and greets, and ongoing committee involvement opportunities — all announced via the e-mail distribution list.
